The window treatments are elegant Roman shades of designer drapery fabric. The blue sofa harmonizes with the blue wall, and includes custom-made pillows with a contrasting, eye-catching design. Opposite the sofa is the focal point: a floor-to-ceiling-height fireplace made of wood-looking porcelain to give a rustic look. It contains a recessed TV screen above the fireplace. The bamboo flooring is set off by the blue and tan rug, which defines the living-room space in this expansive area.

The shape of the kitchen was changed to L-shaped, creating roominess. Does the bamboo flooring look familiar? It’s an extension of the living and dining area flooring, giving a continuous, clean look. A variety of finishes – the blue tile on the pony wall, the brown quartz countertops, and the metallic brown tiles of the backsplash – creates an interesting, harmonious atmosphere. Clutter is minimized by the built-in, recessed microwave and the open shelf made for inserting wine glasses and bottles. Can lights and cabinet undermount lighting guarantee that you can see what you’re slicing! It is a stylish, functional space in which to cook dinner.
